Grandparents; Grandfather - deceased, Grandmother - living
Ex-wife; living
Children?; daughter, living
Occupation: Club bouncer

Noticeable features?:
- He's fucking huge. Tall, broad, and very strong, at a first glance Abel is not a man you want to meet in a dark alley. The size of his hands is something he's used to people pointing out.
Personality:
- Zen; Despite his appearance and the fact a frown seems permanently embedded into his face, Abel's a ridiculously chill guy. Or at least, so it seems. It's very difficult to get a rise out of him, and you will likely only ever do so if you threaten his cat. He does get annoyed of course, but he very rarely lets it show in any way that isn't just a long exhale and irritated muttering. You'll never hear him snap at anyone, nor will you see him react in the heat of the moment unless someone's like..coming at him with a broken bottle.
You know. For example.
- Affable; While he looks like he's done hard time in prison and maybe has a body in his trunk, Abel is a very good-natured, friendly guy with a heart of gold. He is also ridiculously shy - cripplingly so at times, in fact - but if an old lady needed help crossing a road you'd better believe he'd stop traffic to help her do so.
- Good listener; What it says on the tin. He doesn't talk a lot and only speaks when really necessary, but he'll quite happily sit quietly and listen to someone rant, just as long as they don't mind him smoking.
- Reliable; A sturdy dude with sturdy morals, Abel's a responsible and reliable guy who you could trust with your life or your baby. Or both.
A couple of negative traits:
- Messy; It's organised chaos. But it is chaos nonetheless, and he is terrible at getting on top of it. Amidst old magazines, books, boxes of things left to him by his now late parents and God knows what else, Abel's home is...visually busy, lets say.
- He smokes a lot. Not a personality thing, he just does and he desperately needs to quit.
- When in a bad mood, he can be very impatient. This he'd never take out on another person, but he will do everything in his power to get out of the situation.
- In contrast to his seemingly endless supply of chill, if you manage to piss him off you will catch a glimpse of his terrible temper. He has attended anger management in the past and has it under control now, but if something or someone truly provokes him and he's unable to remove himself from the situation, things will probably get ugly.
However, it would take a lot for him to become physically violent.
- Abel is the worst for not knowing how to talk about his feelings. He's never found expressing himself easy, which is one of the reasons his marriage eventually broke down.
Brief history:
Abel was born and raised in Paris in a fairly average home. He had a pretty decent childhood, nothing traumatising, nothing out of the ordinary. He was always a quiet kid, content to watch the other kids play if he didn't feel like joining in. And while he had good attendance, he didn't do well in school; his literacy levels have never been great, and so despite how much he liked learning new things, any subject that heavily involved reading or writing he struggled with. However, he's always been good with biology, as well as woodwork and anything related to botany.
As a teenager he always managed to find little jobs here and there, and for the most part, he was able to stay out of trouble.
When he was 24, he met Jenny, an English girl who would go on to be his girlfriend, then his wife. After 3 years of having a long-distance relationship, he proposed on her next visit to Paris. And soon after that, he moved across the channel to live with her in London. In the year following their wedding, they had a daughter, Isabelle.
However, by the time Izzy had turned 4, her parent's relationship had begun to break down. A lot of factors went into them separating, including - but not limited to - Abel discovering that Jenny was being unfaithful, and had been for some time.
While his ex moved out of the city, taking their daughter with her, Abel remained in London. Eventually finding a house in the East End, he was in turn found by a stray, grey kitten, who now goes by the name of Francois. He does have contact with Isabelle, but he rarely gets to see her.
Hobbies;
- Boxing & weight training
- Raising and nurturing plants, with a particular fondness for the more poisonous varieties. His greenhouse is the most organised part of his home.
- Baking
- Carpentry
- Watching TV with his cat
Fears?
- Clowns; don't ask him why, they just freak him out. Always have, always will. Fuck Pennywise.
- Needles; again, he can't specifically place why. They just put his teeth on edge.
- Confined spaces; as previously mentioned, he's a very large man, and getting stuck somewhere like an elevator is his idea of a very bad time. Even long car rides are something he strongly dislikes for this reason.
Other;
- He doesn't drink. His father struggled with alcoholism for a long time, and his grandfather died of cirrhosis of the liver, and so it's not a habit he's ever let himself get into.
- He can drive, but doesn't own a car.
